I would love to scan my own pics in at some point just to show the beauty of the place as it was then. A gorgeous holiday I took with a friend. xx
Holiday
The best holiday I ever had; Thailand. 2 weeks, £500, sun,
sea, sand and lots of wind! Yes the resort was so windy, the sand kept whipping
at our skin. So we decide to ditch, get the guide book out and go and find the paradise
we expected. 4 hours on a smelly, stuffy train; the only two westerners on it, followed
by a boat trip and then we were at our paradise island. No light pollution, no
wind. The generator switched off at midnight, plunging us into complete
darkness save the stars that completely covered the sky like someone had been constantly
pricking it with a pin. I’d never seen so many stars; shooting stars too. The
toilet was a bucket; the accommodation very basic but I didn't care.
No commercialism, no high rises and no shops, cars or amusements. The beach, a
bar and the sun. Perfect!

You're right Lizzie, 151 words isn't enough...you'll have to blog about it later and elaborate! Sounded heavenly!
ReplyDeleteI may do a picture blog but scanning pics in is not my strong point. . . . It was heavenly; just like the Bounty ads of yesteryear. xxx
DeleteWhat a fabulous post, image and holiday, Lizzie.
ReplyDeleteI'd would manage without the usual luxuries of home for a taste of paradise. Thank you for sharing this :)
Glad you liked. I'd love to share some pics on here too at some point. x
DeleteSounds like a wonderful vacation. I would love to have seen the pictures.
ReplyDeleteI'm rubbish at scannning; not as simple as it first appears on our stupid printer. I'll try again though. x
DeleteSounds perfect, and it's not easy to describe perfection in less than 100 words x.
ReplyDeleteVery True Lesley, if I had the pics, it may have been easier. x
DeleteSounds amazing!! I'm jealous! :)
ReplyDeleteIt was a lifetime ago and I would love to do it again but that's not going to happen. x
DeleteOh, I love that you took charge and got the vacation you wanted!! Love your description of the starry pin-pricked sky!!! Beautiful image!! :)
ReplyDeleteJust hated getting there after Bangkok. Expected the hustle and bustle in the city but not in the resort. Best decision we made. x
DeleteSounds like perfection to me and I'm soooo jealous!
ReplyDeleteIt was gorgeous and I would love to do it all again but I have a feeling it doesn't exist like that anymore; it was nearly 20 years ago. OMG now I feel old!!
DeleteWow, I love your spirit of adventure! It sounds like an amazing trip!
ReplyDeleteWas the best! I don't know if that spirit of adventure exists anymore? x x
