It can be Violet Beauregarde from
Charlie and The Chocolate Factory after eating the gum.
It can be used to describe cold; lips turning blue.
It can also describe a feeling. Feeling blue,
down in the dumps, miserable. I seldom feel blue but today I did. I hated it. So I took my sorry arse off to the gym for a
good run to banish the blues for another colour. Blue maybe my favourite colour but it is definitely
not my favourite feeling.
