I've definitely caught the writing bug now as here is a 5 sentence fiction entry which I may adapt for day 4 rebirth in the 12 days of Christmas blog hop. Hope you like and sorry it's been a while. xxx
It wasn’t the end but the beginning, the start of a new life;
that’s what she had been taught so why did she still cling on to the last
threads of life? Her teachings and meditations had prepared for this moment and
her soul was ready for the next chapter but was she?
So many questions filled her tired mind but then he was
there, in her head, her heart, reminding her what was to come as he patiently waited
for her to return so to continue on their journey; cruelly brought to an abrupt
end when he had been taken away twenty years before.
Only her death now could restart the journey; a new place,
time, body but the soul always there, her constant, her being, her essence to
finish what was meant to be with her Tom.
She looked to her wedding ring on her frail hand, never
removed since the day Tom placed it upon her finger and she smiled knowingly as
her eyes closed, her breath shallow, but she was now ready as it wasn't the end but only the
beginning. . .
What it’s all about:
Five Sentence Fiction is about packing a powerful punch in a tiny fist. Each
week Lillie will post a one word inspiration, then
anyone wishing to participate will write a five sentence story based on the
prompt word. The word does not have to appear in your five sentences, just use
it for direction
Nicely done...I await her rebirth!
ReplyDeleteThank you; I never caught up with rebirth and missed a few days. But I enjoyed the 5sf challenge and wonder why I abandoned it for so long. xx
DeleteFor an agnostic like me, it's just sad.
ReplyDeleteNicely done, though.

Thank you. This area is new to me and doing a fair bit of reading on the subject. x
DeleteWell, I must say a beautiful tale, positive and warm - being like JzB, yes! :)
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of soul mates. Glad you liked. x
DeleteTruth written eloquently.
ReplyDeleteThank you Gail.x
Deletebeautiful
ReplyDeleteThank you. x
DeleteI like this very much! I know that love is the most powerful force in the universe and surely transcends death! Beautifully written! And I think of how often we hesitate to let go of what is old and familiar, even when we know something wonderful awaits us if we do!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much Josie. The fear of change of any sort does seem to hold us back.I guess it comes down to faith in the end and how strong it actually is. . . . . x
DeleteWhy did this make me think of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes?! Maybe becauseI just saw a blurb about them on the news... (news?) And, then the use of the name "Tom"-- anyhow-- loved it! very descriptive!
ReplyDeleteThank you. Maybe I should think a little bit more carefully on character name choosing although I don't have a clue what Tom (Cruise) or Scientologists believe in. x
DeleteA beautiful story of love and loss and the next step. I love this!!! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Lillie. I'm glad I came back for this one and have missed the challenge your 5sf brings. x
